Why Become a Volunteer?

We need you! 
Claremont AYSO is an all volunteer organization. 
Coaches, referees, administrators - Everyone is volunteering!
 
We've got something for everyone! 
You can help your team or you can help at the field, or you can help administratively.
 
Do it for the kids! 
Help us provide an organized, safe, fun environment for the kids of the community.

WE NEED YOU!

Head Coach
Coach your son's or daughter's team. Set your own practice schedule. We provide training and ongoing support. U6-U8 practice 1x per week, while U10-U19 practice 2x per week. Games are on Saturdays. We need about 120 coaches in a typical fall season.
Asst CoachAssist the coach at practices and games.
Referee
U6-U8 referee their own child's game.U10-U14 referee the game following their own game.A great way to help the organization spending only about an hour per week.We provide training. We need a minimum of two referees
per team for a total of 240 volunteers.
Clerical Assistance
We will need one Clerical Assistant for each division to help us make sure that our volunteers have completed their requirements.
Field StaffStaff our field tents 1-2 times during the season for a few hours on game days.
Event helperHelp out during registrations, volunteer dinners, picture day, player clinics, etc.
Referee Staff
Help schedule referees, pick up snacks for our referee tents, help administer referee point and
incentive program.
Board MemberWe can always use assistance on the board.Contact [email protected] for information

VOLUNTEER REQUIREMENTS
 
Our priority is to provide a positive, high-quality, and most importantly safe environment for every child participating in Claremont AYSO. In order to do this all of our volunteers need to adhere to AYSO National and City of Claremont requirements.
Below are the minimum requirements to become a Claremont AYSO volunteer. All requirements must be complete before participating in any practices, games, or other AYSO events that includes the participation of players.

 REGISTER AS A VOLUNTEER - Coaches, Assistant Coaches, Referees, Team Parents, Board Members
  • Requirement– Update and resubmit yearly.
  • How do I register as a volunteer? Go to www.ClaremontAYSO.org to register. If you have previously registered then you will need to go in and update your form. You will be required to enter your Social Security and Driver License numbers. These are only accessible by AYSO National. When you print your forms this information will not print, nor will anyone in the Claremont AYSO organization have access to it. IMPORTANT – DO NOT submit any volunteer forms to the Region as they are retained online.  ONLY NEW Volunteers must email a photo of their Driver License to the Regional CVPA () or arrange for another form of verification.  Your registration cannot be complete until we verify your identity. 
  • Why register as a volunteer? This registration puts you into the AYSO National system and will insure that you are covered by the AYSO insurance. AYSO National conducts background checks on volunteers.  
 
SAFE HAVEN CERTIFICATION - Coaches, Assistant Coaches, Referees, Team Parents, Board Members 
  • Requirement– must be taken once
  • What is Safe Haven? – AYSO National requires that this online course be completed by all AYSO volunteers prior to having contact with players. 
  • How do I complete the Safe Haven Course? You must be a registered volunteer and know your AYSO ID number to complete the course. This is available through the www.ClaremontAYSO.org registration website. If you are a newly registered volunteer you can find your ID number at the to of your volunteer application.  Next, log on and take the course www.AYSOU.org. It will take about 35 minutes.
  • What’s next?  Your volunteer record will automatically update in eayso.
All results of the AYSO background checks are completely confidential. Only our Regional CVPA will be advised if a negative status should arise. The CVPA will then, confidentially, inform the volunteer.
