AYSO UNITED CENTRAL – CLAREMONT

AYSO United places players in a positive, year-round learning environment focused on player development.

AYSO United SoCal is the registered program of AYSO United that operates within many communities in Southern California, including Claremont.

Participation in the club exposes players to the club’s year-round periodization program designed to allow players to reach their full potential while enjoying meaningful games in competitive league play, State Cup, and other selected tournaments and programs.

AYSO United SoCal supports AYSO United Coaches by making available a Director of Coaching and a Technical Director and providing exclusive access to cutting edge curriculum and training support designed to enhance the AYSO United player experience.

TEAM TRAINING AND PERIODIZATION

AYSO United has designed a 52-week program with periodization breaks to help players reach their full potential. Each team trains twice a week with their club coaches, who will use modern training methods and apply AYSO’s Six Philosophies to ensure our players experience an enjoyable and developmentally challenging environment.

Our teams take breaks during Spring Break and Thanksgiving as well as during the Summer and Winter to allow our players ample recovery time and room to enjoy other activities.

PRIORITIZING PLAYER DEVELOPMENT

Built on the foundation of the organization’s Six Philosophies, AYSO United flips the soccer building blocks by prioritizing player development to meet the technical, tactical, and psycho-social needs of our players.

AYSO United is committed to provide a player-centered learning environment which allows each player to reach their own personal development goals.

Players will play at least 50% of each game which ensures both a positive youth soccer experience and an opportunity to develop their game.

PLAYING MEANINGFUL GAMES

Our Club teams compete in competitive soccer leagues during the Fall. The Director of Coaching and club coaches will determine appropriate tournament play events in addition to State Cup, AYSO United Friendlies, and scrimmages against other clubs. Teams may play in futsal, indoor, spring, or winter leagues as well.

COMMON FAQs

WHAT IS A PLAYER-CENTERED LEARNING ENVIRONMENT?

At AYSO United we feel players learn the most when they are in a player-centered environment. This starts with a positive relationship with the coach through positive coaching as well as open an honest dialogue and feedback. Each coach is supported by our own bespoke educational platform, The Coaching Manual, which provides the coaches with resources and tools to deliver quality, age-appropriate training sessions. Each training session and game play should be both challenging and fun, allowing our players to learn and enjoy the sport at the same time.

We believe a player’s development is ultimately in the player’s hands, and AYSO United will provide the best environment and coaching support to ensure each player reaches their highest potential.

DOES AYSO UNITED HAVE A CURRICULUM?

AYSO United provides our coaches with both session and season plans, however each coach has different circumstances that they must adapt to in their own environment. Our AYSO United Technical Team is made up of UEFA ‘A’ and USSF ‘A’ Licensed educators believe that players should be taught key concepts, however we understand the need for coaching creativity in their own environments. As any club we are constantly evaluating our methodology to ensure we are providing our coaches and players with the resources needed.

HOW DOES AYSO UNITED DEFINE SUCCESS?

AYSO United enjoys winning as much as the next club. However, the way we win is most important. We take great pride in player retention, and we celebrate those players who start in our Core program and find success in AYSO’s Select, Extra, and AYSO United programs.

WHY OPEN TRAINING VS. TRYOUTS?

Our AYSO United Open Training Events take the place of formal tryouts, creating a positive environment for players to express themselves and allow our coaches to accurately identify players for our AYSO United teams. We believe players thrive when they are placed in safe, comfortable environments and the open training concept creates that. Our club practice environment will also allow our families to experience our club and interact with other families to decide if we are the right fit for their player.

Once a player commits to AYSO United, AYSO United commits to them.

ABOUT OUR UNITED COACHES

AYSO United coaches are placed in an environment where development is prioritized over winning and players are required to play 50% playing time. This structure ensures that coaches can develop players and teams without outside pressure as they look to create the ultimate development experience. We encourage professional growth and continued education both in AYSO, USSF and other coaching education programs.

AYSO UNITED COACHING EDUCATION

AYSO United is not only a club for Player Development, we also pride ourselves on continual education of our top AYSO coaches. AYSO United’s Coaching education pathway is designed to create a developmental path for our AYSO and AYSO United Coaches as we create a positive learning environment for our players. Each level within our structure allows coaches to maximize their coaching abilities while looking for other coaching challenges.
